A visit to the Leonardo DaVinci Legends of Art and Innovation presentation at the Biltmore estate was a highlight of an early December 2022 excursion, actually an early 75th birthday gift for the 'parental units' from Jessica.
We were amazed at the scope of what this man accomplished, and the depth of his mind and perseverance that kept him thinking, inventing, and creating his entire life.  He was truly one gifted with insights on flight, a military strategy that invented the tank, the bullet, and bridges of intricate design, plus he excelled in every field to which he applied himself.  His life was a quest to learn everything there was to know—he learned through the power of observation and experience.
The Mona Lisa is his best-known work and often regarded as the world’s most famous painting.  The Last Supper is the most reproduced religious painting of all time.
Following are a few of the photos taken during the presentation.  They are ‘heavy’ on the quotes, which I found inspiring.  One quote that shows a man driven to perfection was especially revealing:  "I have offended God and mankind because my work didn't reach the quality it should have."
My sincere apologies for the “selfie” above which seemed to be a wee bit more interesting with a photoshopped shift of the eyes.  Sorry, but I just had to try.
Have to end with a photo of the birthday girl.  DaVinci was not her favorite part of the Biltmore experience, but she was a trouper.
